Mr. Fonseca was in the military from 1942 to 1945 serving over 2 years and 6 months in the European Theater of operations. He was privileged and proud to be a part of the 2012 Honor Flight group of veterans from Ocala, FL selected to be flown to Washington, DC. After his discharge, Mr. Fonseca attended college in New York. He was a civil service worker assigned to General Douglas MacArthur’s headquarters in Tokyo, Japan during the Korean War. It was in Japan that Mr. Fonseca met and married his wife Sara who preceded him in death. Mr. Fonseca was a man of great faith and served through the years in volunteer church positions. Mr. Fonseca greatly enjoyed his time as a bible study teacher at First Baptist Church of Dunnellon and the friendship of his class. Julio was an active member of the VFW of Dunnellon for many years.
