Graduates of: Coral Gables High School 1942) and the University of Miami with a BBA in Business Administration (1956)
Military: US Air Force (ret 1976) - World War II, Korea and Vietnam and tours of duty in the United States and abroad; served as a Radio Operator and Tail Gunner on the B-17 Flying Fortress "Wee Bonnie" making bombing raids over German occupied Europe and he and his crew were shot down twice in 1943. He was wounded by enemy fire as he parachuted to safety when he and his crew were forced to eject from their disabled B-17 after completing their 7th mission. John was captured by the Germans and spent twenty-one months as a German Prisoner of War in Stalag 17-B in Krems, Austria. He was liberated by American soldiers in 1945.
Awarded: 21+ military honors including the Purple Heart, The Air Combat Medal, The Bronze Star, and a Presidential Citation for his service to his country
