WHITTLE, FLORENCE L., 82, of Dunnellon, died Saturday (Jan. 24, 1987) at the Crystal River Geriatrics Center. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Ida Nicholson Culkins, age 30, and William C Culkins, age 36.

Florence married Edward Joseph Koper on February 14, 1925 in Hamilton, Ohio, when she was 20 years old. They had one daughter together, Mary Jane, in Dec. 1925. They were divorced in 1936 in Pinellas, Florida, after 11 years of marriage. Florence abandoned her daughter after the divorce and never contacted Mary Jane again.

Florence married Byron B. Hartman in Pinellas, Florida, on December 18, 1936, when she was 32 years old. Her father William passed away in 1936. In a sad twist of fate, her new husband Byron passed away on July 27, 1937 leaving her a widow after only 7 months and 10 days of marriage.

She came to St. Petersburg 17 years ago from Seminole and was a retired medical secretary. She was a Christian. Survivors include her husband Reason E., and a daughter.
