George, 83, of Rockville, Md., was born in 1916 to Claude and Ora George in Mathiston, Miss, and died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999 in Rockville. He was a retired steamfitter and member of the United Association for more than 50 years.Mr. George worked throughout the United States. He resided in St. Petersburg, Fla. from 1957 to 1973 when he moved to Dunnellon to work at the Florida Power Plant. He was married to Katherine Rogers George for 55 years before her death in 1997.Survivors include three daughters, Claudette Stacy of Andalusia, Ala., Lucy Hayden of Rockville, Md., and Dianne Johnson of Glendale, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; Tony Stacy, Peter Hardin, Jenny Hardin, Kathy Hardin, Sharon Brannen, Michael Hayden and Laura Hayden; two great-grandchildren, Josh and Jamie Hardin. His sister-in-law, Grace George resides in Winona.A memorial service was held in Dunnellon, Fla. on Monday, Nov. 29.De Vol Funeral Home of Gaithersburg, Md. was in charge of arrangements.
