Obituary

Ana Maria Diaz, age 96, went to her heavenly home July 11, 2016. Her work on this earth, as God's good and faithful servant, has ended.
She was born in Arroyo, Puerto Rico; the fourth child of the late Sergio Díaz and Margarita Taime and was preceded in death by siblings Clemencia, Sergio, Belgica and Eduardo Díaz.
After graduating in 1942 from Bishop Willinger School of Nursing, she married Agustín Hernández (deceased December 10, 2005) and their marriage was blessed with three children.
In 2005 she moved to Dunnellon where she was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton church and resided with her daughter Ana and son-in-law David Leahy.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at Massachusetts General Hospital, New England Medical Center and retired as nursing supervisor of Hospital Auxilio Mutuo in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico.
She is survived by her daughter Ana Leahy (née Hernández) and sons Agustín and Sergio Hernández. Eight grandchildren: Virginia, David Michael, Ann Marie, Victoria, Christina, Teresa, Jacqueline and Selena. Ten great grandchildren: Cameron Leffler in Darien, CT., Lincoln Leahy, William and Devin Bailey, Jake, Alex and Jenna Chiasson, Addison and Cameron Brosnihan in Massachusetts and Ivan Coll in Florida. Four brothers: Federico, Lucas, Victor and Woodrow Díaz, as well as, several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that you perform an act of random kindness in her memory.
A requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1401 W Country Club Blvd, Citrus Springs, FL 34434. Interment will follow in Dunnellon Memorial Gardens.
