Obituary

Crawfordville - Mrs. Mavadelle "Susie" Hess Inlow, age 85, died peacefully in her son's home in Crawfordville, Florida on January 10, 2008. Born in Lake Wales, FL on January 30, 1922, Susie was a former resident of Dunnellon, Florida where she was a founding member of the Dunnellon Garden Club and active in community affairs. While living in Keystone Heights, FL, Susie was president of AARP. She worked for many years as a nurse at VA Hospitals in California and Florida, as well as at the Mental Health Unit "Renner House" in Gainesville, Florida. She continued working in the profession she loved until 2005. Susie had an adventuresome spirit and was always eager and curious to explore and discover people and the world, whether sailing or scuba diving. She is much beloved and will be missed by her sister Gloria Williams, her daughter Salinda Hess Roch and Husband Jacques and her sons, John Hess and wife Mary, Robert Hess and wife Jean, and Charles Hess and wife Carrie, and their extended families. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent, in Susie's name, to your local Garden Club or to a memorial fund with the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, 1400 South Denning Drive, Winter Park, Florida 32789-5662, www.ffgc.org. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 12th in the Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Barrows officiating. Interment will receive friends at a later date in Dunnellon Memorial Gardens.
