Obituary

Ocala - Jesse R. Holcomb, age 76, of Ocala, died on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Sylvia's Hospice House. Jesse was born in Crieghton, West Virginia on November 22, 1932 and moved here in 1981 from New Brunswick, NJ. He served our Country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean and Vietnam Wars having retired with the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant with 31 years of service. After retirement, Jesse and his sister, Peggy Buschman owned and operaed Bucomb Farms and Nancy's Corner in Ocala. He was a member of the Ocala V.F.W. Post and Baltimore Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Nancy L. Holcomb, his son; Jesse R Holcomb, II of Ocala, his daughter; Barbara J. Holcomb of Ocala, five sisters; Vonita Mayer, Grey Mayer, Peggy Buschman, Margaret Gardner, Ruth McCollough and his grandson; Jesse R Holcomb, III. He was preceded in death by his sister; Uldine Zeiler. A celebration of life memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the Robert Funeral Home in Dunnellon. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested Hospice of Marion County.
