Pedro “Lito” Delgado, 83, a loving husband, father, grandfather, & great grandfather left us on Sunday early morning at the Legacy House in Ocala surrounded by his loving family who has been by his side over his last few days here with us. He leaves behind his wife, Milagros Delgado; his 3 daughters, Mirna Sola and her husband James Sola. Lilly Cruz and her husband Lein Cruz, and Yadira Delgado; his 7 grandchildren, Emelinda (Emy) Houle, Marisol (Mari) Burgess, James (Jimmy) Sola, Gabriel (Lenny) Cruz, Naomi Cruz, Travis Goss, and Tony Goss. His 11 great grandchildren; Alianna Lacombe, Nic Lacombe, Christian Houle, Tyler Burgess, Deanna Burgess, Diego Cruz, Adrianna Cruz, Cadence Sola, Amaia Sola, Oriah Sola, and Cali Jo Markham. And many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pedro was born on November 8, 1932 in Aquadilla, Puerto Rico to the late Alberto and Maria (Hernandez) Delgado. He proudly served our country in the US Army during the Korean conflict.
After serving his country Pedro met and married the love of his life Milagros Delgado on Dec. 8, 1960 in Puerto Rico. After his 3 daughters were born, he moved his family to NY, then to Meriden, CT. He worked for the International Silver Company for 15 years until the factory was closed down. He than worked for AGC for about 5 years. In May of 1987 he moved to Florida and resided in Dunnellon, Florida where he called home. He worked for Palm Cay and Service Industry until his retirement. Besides his family, his passion in life was fishing. Whether he caught anything or not, he just loved being at his favorite fishing spot at the barge canal. If he wasn’t home those who knew him could always find him there. Pedro Delgado was a loving, caring, humble man with a heart of gold. His presence will truly be missed by many and his weekly routines he use to make throughout his week visiting those dear to him.
